THERE'S SOMETHING I WANT TO SHOW YOU WHICH I THINK IS VERY GOOD

Peter Ball is a friend and a sculptor of considerable talent. Most of his work is primitive. All of it is thought provoking. He gets commissioned fairly regularly to do religious pieces. Last year he made an alter for the Fisherman's Chapel at Winchester Cathedral. I've seen another work of his, a crucifix at St Philip's Cathedral in Birmingham. It is intricately worked strips of beaten copper secured with nails, and nails is the abiding memory when you walk away.

I include, here, a link to a graphic. This work is also at Winchester Cathedral and represents the Virgin Mary holding the crucified Christ.
